Position:

The Lead Power BI Analyst/Developer is responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance in the development and support of the enterprise business intelligence and reporting suite. They will play an integral part in the leadership, and development, of the BI team, ensuring their continued progression and adherence to development standards and processes. You will be responsible for the delivery of reporting projects, full lifecycle, reporting to internal stakeholders on project progress. 

The role is also responsible for:
  • Setting development standards and performing code reviews of developer’s
  • Provide guidance and support in development activities for team of 3-6 staff and contract developers building and supporting custom BI reports.
  • Capture, validate and assess business requirements submitted by stakeholders to determine if and how they can be incorporated in to Power BI reports.
  • To deliver new, and changes to existing, Business Intelligence (BI) reporting, data extraction and transform (ETL) for identified and agreed business requirements, providing accurate and timely data in support of key business metrics and enabling data led decision making
  • Researching and keeping abreast of new BI technologies and best practice
The key skills and experience required for the Lead BI Analyst/Developer are:
  • Over 5 years’ experience as a Senior BI Developer, with experience leading/mentoring team members
  • Experience promoting, educating and growing BI, data analysis and visualisation services within an organisation
  • Strong experience with Power BI, and a breadth of knowledge of the differtent ways you can consume data in the tool
  • Strong Data Warehouse skills
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Azure BI toolset including Azure Data Warehouses
  • Strong experience in T-SQL and PL/SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) technologies.
  • Knowledge of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills, including dealing with 3rd party suppliers
The Lead BI Developer will be a data evangelist, technically adept and have a logical mind-set.  They will enjoy data and have a strong numerical background, capable with statistical and data modelling.
