Summary of the Senior Application Support Engineer role:
My client are looking at recruiting a Senior Application Support Support Engineer to join a newly created team, providing 3rd Level support. As a Senior Support Engineer, you will show creative and innovative problem-solving skills with a willingness to take responsibility for complex issues and development of solutions as they arise.
You will also be part of a software engineering team delivering software products yet have a specific focus on the application support responsibilities that cover;- Incident & Problem Management
- Defects & Service Improvements
- Product Engineering
Key skills required for the Senior Application Support Engineer includes:- Experience of developing and providing application support in a managed services environment or managing technology enabled services within a regulated environment
- Developing and supporting applications hosted on Azure or virtual servers
- .Net,C# web-technologies, SQL Server and associated development languages / IDEs
- Experience of following a defined test and defect process and using tools such as Jira, HP ALM, or similar
- Demonstrable experience of identifying and delivering service improvements to delight our customers.
- Strong communicator
- Someone who can come in and hit the ground running!
Your day-to-day role will be varied and include some of the following:- Internal clients
- Will be involved with sorting out issues with clients
- System configuration - with the DevOps guys
- Clients:
- Study teams
- Supporting the toolsets the Engineering team has built
- Investigation why externals are facing issues
- Any default fixes
- How To guides, fixing issues
