Purpose of the Role:
Great opportunity to join a technology focused organisation as a 3rd Line Infrastructure Analyst. Reporting to the Technical Lead the purpose of the role is to provide technical expertise for the day to day activities within the Infrastructure Team.
Key Responsibilities include:- Provide technical expertise for the Windows Infrastructure Team
- The support of Incident, Problem and Change Management within the Windows Infrastructure Team
- Provide support & expertise into the strategic choices within Infrastructure Services and ensuring decisions are acted upon.
- Ongoing involvement of supplier relationships with key third parties for Infrastructure Services, including Microsoft & IBM.
- Continuous daily health checking of the platform infrastructure.
- Maintain currency with prevailing and future technologies and have the ability to communicate and introduce the latest technology, and technology best practice.
- Enhancing the technical knowledge needs of the Windows Infrastructure Team to mitigate risk of single point of knowledge and aid retention of key staff at all levels.
- Providing support and technical expertise in order that contingency plans are maintained and tested in line with the Business Continuity processes.
- Providing 24 x 7 on call support for Windows Infrastructure.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:- Excellent knowledge of VMware & Microsoft Technologies.
- Excellent knowledge of VMware & Microsoft Design.
- Excellent knowledge of VMware & Microsoft Capacity Planning.
- Excellent knowledge of High Availability Option for VMware & Microsoft products.
- Excellent knowledge of VMware & Microsoft backup and restore strategy
- Excellent knowledge of VMware & Microsoft performance tuning capabilities.
- Excellent knowledge of Name Resolution (DNS/WINS)
- Good Knowledge of Active Directory across the Infrastructure estate.
- Good knowledge of Azure Technologies – Automation, Security, Reporting.
- Excellent at building relationships across a wide variety of groups
- Tactical and commercial awareness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This role is ideal for a 3rd lineinfrasturcture person who has experience in BAU and project work. You will be expected to work on your own initiative, help present changes within IT infrastructure to improve services across the business.
There is an on-call rota 24/7, which you will be on 1 week in every 4. (additional pay for this).
